Indulge in a slice of Vlaai, a traditional Dutch fruit pie with a buttery crust and a sweet cherry or apple filling. Perfect for a cozy afternoon tea or as a delightful dessert at your next gathering.

Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 125 g unsalted butter
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 500 g fruit filling (e.g., cherry or apple)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

    Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

    In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until crumbly.
