IngredientsWhat you need
- 480 g Golden Cloud Cake Wheat Flour
- 5 ml salt
- 30 ml sugar
- 10 g instant dry yeast
- 250 ml lukewarm water
- sunflower oil for deep-frying
- 45 ml oil
- 500 g minced beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 10 ml crushed garlic
- 1 can All Gold chopped tomatoes
- 45 ml KOO curry paste
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method
- 1
Sift together flour, salt, and sugar into a bowl and add instant yeast.

Add lukewarm water and mix into a soft dough.

Knead for at least 10 minutes, cover with a cloth and leave in a warm place until double in size.

Heat oil in a deep saucepan. Divide dough into balls, fry in the hot oil until brown and cooked through.

Drain on an absorbent paper and keep warm.

For the mince curry: Heat oil and fry onions and garlic until soft. Add mince and cook until brown.

Add all remaining ingredients, cover and simmer gently for 20 minutes.

Fill vetkoek with mince curry.
Notes
This yeast dough can be used to make iDombolo (steamed bread).
