Indulge in the delightful taste of Vanillekipferl, buttery crescent-shaped cookies infused with ground almonds and a hint of vanilla. Perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy afternoons with tea, these treats will warm your heart.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 200 g unsalted butter
- 100 g ground almonds
- 80 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
Method
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Cream together until light and fluffy.
- 3
Add the ground almonds, flour, and salt to the butter mixture. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- 4
Take small pieces of dough and roll them into crescent shapes about 5 cm long and 1 cm thick.
- 5
Place the shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them. Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.
- 6
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. While still warm, dust the cookies with a mixture of vanilla sugar and powdered sugar.
- 7
Allow the Vanillekipferl to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
