Warm your soul with a comforting bowl of Tteokguk, a traditional Korean soup brimming with tender beef brisket, chewy rice cakes, and vibrant green onions. Ideal for New Year's celebrations or any cozy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups water
  • 200 grams beef brisket
  • 2 cups tteok (rice cakes)
  • 4 stalks green onion
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 egg egg
  • salt to taste salt

Method

    In a large pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.

    Add the sliced beef brisket to the boiling water and simmer for about 20 minutes until tender.

    Add the tteok (rice cakes) to the pot and cook for another 5-7 minutes until they are soft.
