Method

  1. 1

In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  2. 2

Gradually add cold water, mixing until the dough forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground pork, ground beef, and chopped onion until the meat is browned and the onions are soft.

  4. 4

Season the meat mixture with cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  5. 5

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out half of the dough to fit a 9-inch pie pan. Fill with the meat mixture.

  6. 6

Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the filling. Seal the edges and cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

  7. 7

Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown.

  8. 8

Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
