Indulge in a classic French Tarte Tatin, where sweet, caramelized apples meet flaky puff pastry, creating a heavenly dessert. Perfect for cozy dinners or special occasions, this upside-down tart is sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Braeburn)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    In a 9-inch (23 cm) cast iron skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

    Add the sugar to the melted butter and stir until dissolved, creating a caramel sauce.

    Arrange the apple halves, cut-side up, in the skillet, and sprinkle with cinnamon and vanilla extract. Cook for about 10 minutes until the apples begin to soften.
