- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons yogurt

Method

In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt. Mix well.

Add the oil and yogurt (if using) to the flour mixture and mix until crumbly.

Gradually add water, kneading until you form a smooth and pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Preheat your tandoor or oven to a high temperature (around 500°F or 260°C).

Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll each ball on a floured surface to form thin rounds.

Place the rolled roti into the tandoor or oven and cook until puffed and slightly charred (about 2-3 minutes).

Remove the roti from the tandoor and brush with ghee or butter if desired. Serve hot.
