IngredientsWhat you need
- 1 kg bone-in chicken pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon tandoori masala
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine plain yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, vegetable oil, tandoori masala, salt, and red chili powder. Mix well to create a marinade.
- 2
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) or prepare a grill for medium-high heat.
- 4
Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- 5
Place the chicken pieces on a baking tray or grill. Cook in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a charred appearance.
- 6
For extra flavor, baste the chicken with a little oil or melted butter halfway through cooking.
- 7
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven or grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- 8
Serve hot with naan, rice, and your favorite chutney or salad.
