Svagdricka is a traditional Swedish malt beverage, perfect for cozy gatherings. With its rich barley flavor and hints of sweetness from raisins, it's a delightful treat for any occasion, especially during festive celebrations.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 1 liter water
- 250 grams barley malt
- 100 grams sugar
- 1 packet yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons hops
- 1 cup raisins
Method
- 1
Boil the water in a large pot.
- 2
Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and stir in the barley malt and sugar until fully dissolved.
- 3
Add the hops, salt, and raisins, then let the mixture cool to about 30°C (86°F).
- 4
Once cooled, sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and gently stir to combine.
- 5
Cover the pot with a clean cloth and let it sit in a warm place for about 10 minutes until it starts to foam.
- 6
After 10 minutes, stir the mixture again and pour it into clean bottles, leaving some space at the top.
- 7
Seal the bottles and allow them to ferment at room temperature for another 10-15 minutes.
- 8
Refrigerate the bottles to stop fermentation, then serve chilled.
