IngredientsWhat you need
- 1 cup semolina (suji)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup raisins
Method
- 1
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
- 2
Add semolina and roast until it turns golden brown, stirring constantly.
- 3
In a separate pot, boil water and add sugar. Stir until dissolved.
- 4
Slowly pour the boiling sugar water into the roasted semolina, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Add cardamom powder, chopped nuts, and raisins. Mix well.
- 6
Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the halwa thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- 7
Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
- 8
Serve warm, garnished with extra nuts if desired.
