Indulge in the classic French dish of Steak Frites, featuring juicy ribeye steaks paired with crispy, golden fries. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special occasion, this meal brings bistro charm to your table.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 steaks ribeye steaks
- 2 potatoes Russet potatoes
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
Method
- 1
Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat. Let it get very hot before cooking the steaks.
- 2
Season both sides of the ribeye steaks generously with sea salt and black pepper.
- 3
Place the steaks on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time to your desired doneness.
- 4
During the last minute of cooking, add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan and baste the steaks with the melted butter for extra flavor.
- 5
While the steaks are cooking, cut the Russet potatoes into thin fries. Rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch and dry them thoroughly.
- 6
In a separate skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the potato slices until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 7
Let the steaks rest for a few minutes after cooking. Then slice them against the grain.
- 8
Serve the sliced steak alongside the fries, garnished with the remaining butter and chopped parsley.
