- 4 cups self-raising flour
- 250 g butter
- 6 eggs
- 5 ml vanilla essence
- 250 ml sugar
- 125 ml milk (only if mixture is too thick)
- 125 ml mixed fruit jam
- 1 tsp wine red colouring
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups water

Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well.

If mixture is not of dropping consistency, add milk a little at a time.
