IngredientsWhat you need
- 600 grams lamb shoulder or leg, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground saffron
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 large bell pepper, cut into chunks
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the lamb cubes, olive oil, lemon juice, saffron, salt, black pepper, and diced onion. Mix well to coat the meat evenly.
- 2
Cover the bowl and let the lamb marinate for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 3
Preheat your grill or barbecue on medium-high heat.
- 4
Thread the marinated lamb and bell pepper chunks onto skewers, alternating between the two.
- 5
Grill the skewers for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally until the lamb is browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
- 6
Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- 7
Serve hot with rice or flatbread and enjoy your delicious Shishlik!
