Savor the vibrant flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine with these succulent lamb shish kebabs, marinated in garlic, cumin, and paprika. Ideal for a summer barbecue or a cozy weeknight dinner with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams lamb shoulder, cubed
- 1 large onion, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste salt and black pepper
- 1 cup bell peppers, cubed
Method
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed lamb (or beef), grated onion, minced garlic, olive oil, ground cumin, and paprika. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- 2
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the mixture marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
- 3
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
- 4
Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- 5
Thread the marinated meat onto skewers, alternating with bell pepper pieces if using.
- 6
Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked to your desired doneness.
- 7
Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- 8
Serve Shish Kebab with flatbread or rice, and enjoy your meal with a side of fresh salad or yogurt.
