Savor the rich, spiced flavors of Seekh Kebab, a beloved South Asian dish featuring tender ground meat infused with aromatic herbs and spices. Perfect for a weekend barbecue or a cozy family dinner.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams ground beef or lamb
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 bunch fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
Method
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- 2
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly using your hands until well combined.
- 3
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion around a skewer into a long, cylindrical shape.
- 4
Preheat your grill or barbecue. Brush the kebabs lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
- 5
Grill the seekh kebabs over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have a nice char.
- 6
Once cooked, remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes.
- 7
Garnish with chopped fresh coriander and serve hot with naan or flatbreads and yogurt sauce.
