Savor the rich flavors of Central Asia with these golden-brown samsas, filled with spiced ground beef or lamb and onions. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or as a delightful appetizer at your next gathering.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams all-purpose flour
- 200 ml water
- 50 ml olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 300 grams ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, oil, and gradually add water until a smooth dough forms.
- 2
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until elastic, then wrap in plastic and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 3
In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in a little olive oil until translucent.
- 4
Add the ground meat, cumin, and paprika to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked, then let the mixture cool.
- 5
Divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle.
- 6
Place a spoonful of the meat filling in the center of each circle, fold the pastry over to form a triangle, and seal the edges well.
- 7
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Arrange the samsa on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush with olive oil.
- 8
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Serve warm.
