Sambosa, a delightful Indian snack, features crispy pastry filled with spiced ground beef and onions, perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a savory treat during a cozy weeknight dinner.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
- 453.6 g ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp black pepper
- vegetable oil for frying vegetable oil
Method
- 1
In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add oil and gradually add water to form a smooth dough.
- 2
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until soft. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- 3
In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the cooked ground beef, cumin, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
- 4
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle, then cut it in half.
- 5
Take one half circle, form a cone, and seal the edge. Fill with the meat mixture and seal the top edge with a bit of water.
- 6
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan. Fry the sambosas in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- 7
Remove sambosas from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- 8
Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
