- 2 cups dates, pitted and chopped
- 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 cup semolina
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup rose water
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Method

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the semolina to the melted butter and toast it for about 5-7 minutes or until it’s golden and fragrant, stirring continuously.

Remove the skillet from heat, then stir in the chopped dates, walnuts, cardamom powder, and rose water until well combined.

Press the mixture into a greased 9x9 inch square dish or onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spreading evenly.

Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes, then cut into squares or diamonds while still warm.

Dust the top with powdered sugar and sprinkle sliced almonds for garnish.

Allow to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
