Indulge in the rich flavors of Punschkrapfen, a delightful Austrian treat filled with apricot jam and a hint of rum, perfect for festive gatherings or a cozy afternoon coffee break.

Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 75 g butter
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup rum
  • 100 g apricot jam
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp water

Method

    Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking tray.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and melted butter. Mix well.

    Add the milk gradually while stirring until a smooth batter forms.

    Pour the batter into the prepared baking tray, spreading it evenly.

    Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
