Indulge in the sweet, melt-in-your-mouth goodness of Peda, a traditional Indian treat made with milk powder, cardamom, and nuts. Perfect for festive occasions or as a delightful dessert after a family meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk powder
  • 1 can Condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup Chopped nuts
  • 2 tbsp Heavy cream

Method

  1. 1

In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over low heat.

  2. 2

Add the milk powder and fry it for 2-3 minutes until it is slightly roasted and aromatic.

  3. 3

Pour in the condensed milk and heavy cream (if using), stirring continuously to prevent lumps.

  4. 4

Cook the mixture on low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.

  5. 5

Add the cardamom powder and mix well.

  6. 6

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, until it's manageable to touch.

  7. 7

Grease your hands with ghee and shape small portions of the mixture into round balls or discs.

  8. 8

Garnish with chopped nuts on top and let them cool completely before serving.
