- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup raisin
- 1 egg egg wash

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Add the remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.

Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a round loaf. Place it in a greased round cake pan.

Let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes. Then brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Optionally, place raisins on top for decoration. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
