Indulge in this creamy Italian panna cotta, a luscious dessert infused with vanilla and topped with vibrant fruit puree. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration, it’s a delightful way to end any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1/2 cup fruit puree or berry sauce

Method

  1. 1

In a small bowl, combine the cold water and gelatin powder. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.

  2. 2

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is warm, but not boiling.

  3. 3

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.

  4. 4

Add the vanilla extract to the mixture and stir well.

  5. 5

Pour the panna cotta mixture into individual serving glasses or molds. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

  6. 6

Once set, serve chilled with your choice of fruit puree or berry sauce on top.
