Experience the delightful taste of Pandebono, a traditional Colombian cheese bread made with yuca flour and a hint of salt. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack, these warm, cheesy bites will transport you straight to the heart of Colombia.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups yuca flour
- 1 cup cheese
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup water
Method
- 1
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the yuca flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
- 3
Add the cheese and mix until well combined.
- 4
If using, add the egg and mix thoroughly. Gradually add water until a dough forms.
- 5
Knead the dough gently until smooth. If it's too sticky, add a bit more cornstarch.
- 6
Form small balls (about the size of a golf ball) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 7
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden and puffed up.
- 8
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
