Indulge in the rich flavors of Austria with Mozartkugeln, a delightful confection of marzipan, dark chocolate, and crunchy pistachios. Perfect for special occasions or as a sweet treat to share with loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams marzipan
  • 100 grams dark chocolate
  • 200 grams pistachios
  • 150 grams milk chocolate
  • 50 grams butter
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  1. 1

In a bowl, mix together the softened butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and chopped pistachios until well combined.

  2. 2

Take a small amount of marzipan and flatten it in your palm. Place a teaspoon of the pistachio filling in the center and wrap the marzipan around it to form a ball.

  3. 3

Repeat this process until all the marzipan and filling are used, placing the finished balls on a tray lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

Chill the marzipan balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. 5

Melt the dark and milk chocolate together in a bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.

  6. 6

Dip each chilled marzipan ball into the melted chocolate using a fork, allowing excess chocolate to drip off, then place back on the parchment paper.

  7. 7

Let the chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate briefly until solid.

  8. 8

Serve the Mozartkugeln at room temperature and enjoy your homemade Austrian delicacy!
