Savor the smoky, sweet flavors of Moo Ping, a Thai grilled pork skewer dish marinated in a fragrant blend of soy sauce, garlic, and spices. Perfect for a weekend barbecue or a cozy weeknight dinner.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams pork shoulder or pork belly
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon coriander root
- 8 sticks bamboo skewers
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, black pepper, minced garlic, and coriander root to create the marinade.
- 2
Add the sliced pork to the marinade, ensuring that all pieces are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or prepare a charcoal grill.
- 4
Thread the marinated pork slices onto soaked bamboo skewers, folding them if necessary to fit.
- 5
Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char.
- 6
Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- 7
Serve Moo Ping hot with sticky rice and a side of spicy dipping sauce, if desired.
