Savor the rich flavors of Mantı, Turkish dumplings filled with seasoned ground beef and onions, served with a dollop of creamy yogurt. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with loved ones.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup yogurt
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, egg, and water to form a dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- 2
In another bowl, mix the ground beef, chopped onion, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 3
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into small squares (about 2 inches each).
- 4
Place a small amount of the meat mixture in the center of each square. Fold the square into a triangle and pinch the edges to seal.
- 5
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Gently drop the mantı into the water and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they float.
- 6
Using a slotted spoon, remove the mantı from the water and serve hot, topped with yogurt.
