Indulge in a rich Belgian chocolate cake, where velvety chocolate meets buttery goodness, creating a decadent dessert perfect for special occasions or a cozy weeknight treat with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 250 g Belgian chocolate
- 150 g butter
- 200 g sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- a pinch none salt
- 100 g whipped cream
Method
- 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Butter and flour a cake pan.
- 2
Melt the Belgian chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- 3
In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 4
Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture gently until combined.
- 5
Sift the flour and salt over the mixture, then fold in gently along with the vanilla extract if using.
- 6
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer comes out slightly moist.
- 7
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 8
Serve the Manon cake with whipped cream on the side and enjoy your delicious Belgian dessert!
