Warm up with a comforting bowl of Manduguk, a traditional Korean dumpling soup brimming with savory beef, tofu, and fresh green onions. Ideal for cozy weeknight dinners or special family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup ground beef
  • 1/2 cup tofu
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 4 cups beef broth

Method

  1. 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and water to create a smooth dough. Knead for about 5 minutes, then cover with a damp cloth.

  2. 2

In another bowl, mix ground beef, crumbled tofu, chopped green onions, soy sauce, and minced garlic until well combined.

  3. 3

Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into thin circles about 3 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

Place a small spoonful of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold and pleat the edges to seal the dumplings tightly.

  5. 5

Bring beef broth to a boil in a large pot. Add the dumplings and cook for about 10-15 minutes, until they float to the surface and are cooked through.

  6. 6

Serve the Manduguk hot, ladling the broth and dumplings into bowls. Garnish with additional green onions if desired.
