- 2 cups Basmati rice
- 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 pieces green chili, slit
- Salt to taste Salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
Method

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

Stir in the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, and turmeric. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Add the chicken pieces, and cook until browned on all sides.

Pour in the chicken broth and add the soaked rice, green chili, and salt. Bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes or until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.

Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 10 minutes.

Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
