IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 cup pistachios
- 1/4 cup almonds
Method
- 1
In a large saucepan, combine the whole milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
- 2
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30-45 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. The mixture should reduce by about half.
- 3
Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Then add sweetened condensed milk, sugar (if using), and ground cardamom. Mix well until everything is combined.
- 4
Pour the mixture into kulfi molds or small cups. If using cups, cover with aluminum foil and insert a popsicle stick into the center of each.
- 5
Freeze the kulfi for at least 4-6 hours or until solid. For best results, freeze overnight.
- 6
Once frozen, remove the kulfi from the molds by running warm water over the outside for a few seconds. This will help it slide out easily.
- 7
Serve garnished with chopped pistachios and almonds. Enjoy your delicious homemade kulfi!
