Savor the comforting flavors of Kulajda, a traditional Czech soup brimming with earthy mushrooms, creamy sour cream, and fresh dill. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with friends.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml water
  • 200 g potatoes, diced
  • 200 g button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 pcs eggs, poached
  • to taste g salt and pepper

Method

    In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.

    Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes until they are tender.

    Add the sliced mushrooms to the pot and continue to simmer for another 5-7 minutes.

    Stir in the sour cream, chopped dill, vinegar, salt, and pepper until well combined.

    Allow the soup to heat through without boiling for about 5 minutes.

    In the meantime, poach the eggs in boiling water until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny.

    Serve the kulajda hot, topped with a poached egg in each bowl.
