Indulge in a fragrant Indian Korma, where tender chicken simmers in a rich blend of spices, yogurt, and ghee. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or vegetable oil
  • 2 medium onions, finely sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Method

  1. 1

Heat ghee or oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  2. 2

Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring them for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 3

Stir in the chicken pieces, cooking until they are browned on all sides.

  4. 4

In a bowl, mix yogurt, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Add this mixture to the chicken, stirring well to coat.

  5. 5

Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender.

  6. 6

Once the chicken is cooked, sprinkle garam masala over the dish and stir gently. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  7. 7

Serve hot with naan or rice, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.
