Savor the comforting warmth of Koko, a delightful cornmeal porridge enriched with creamy milk and a hint of vanilla. Perfect for a cozy breakfast or a nourishing snack any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp groundnut (peanut) paste
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Method

    In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.

    Once the water is boiling, slowly add the cornmeal while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.

    Stir in the salt and continue cooking for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

    Reduce the heat and add the milk (or coconut milk) and groundnut paste, stirring until well combined.
