Savor the comforting taste of Knedlíky, a traditional Czech potato dumpling dish, perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner. These fluffy dumplings, paired with creamy sour cream and fresh chives, are sure to warm your heart.

Ingredients

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 300 g sour cream
  • 50 g chopped chives

Method

    Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and allow to cool slightly.

    Mash the potatoes until smooth and let them cool completely.

    In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with flour, beaten egg, and salt to create a dough.

    On a floured surface, roll the dough into a log about 2 cm in diameter and cut into pieces about 3 cm long.

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then drop the knedlíky pieces into the water and cook until they rise to the surface, about 5-7 minutes.

    Use a slotted spoon to remove the knedlíky and let them drain.
