Experience the warm, comforting flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine with Khubz, a soft and fluffy flatbread perfect for wrapping around your favorite grilled meats or enjoying with dips. Ideal for any meal, from casual weeknight dinners to festive gatherings.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Method
- 1
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center.
- 3
Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the well in the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 6
Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Divide the dough into equal balls and roll each ball into a flat circle about 1/4 inch thick.
- 7
Cook each flatbread in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until puffed and lightly browned.
- 8
Serve warm with your favorite dips or alongside meals.
