- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cups prunes, pitted
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 4 cups water

In a large pot, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Add the cubed lamb or beef to the pot. Brown the meat on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the turmeric powder, mixing well to coat the meat evenly.

Pour in the water, bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 60 minutes.

After 60 minutes, add the prunes to the pot, stirring gently. Cover and continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
