Experience the warm embrace of Moroccan cuisine with Khobz Eddar, a traditional bread infused with olive oil and a hint of semolina. Perfect for sharing at family gatherings or enjoying with your favorite tagine.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 300 ml warm water
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp semolina
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- 2
Slowly add warm water and olive oil to the dry mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- 5
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces (about 8). Shape each piece into a round ball.
- 6
Flatten each ball into a disc shape about 1 cm thick. Dust with semolina on both sides.
- 7
Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each disc for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- 8
Serve warm with dipping sauces, or enjoy with cheese and olives.
