- 1 kg whole chicken
- 2 cups jasmine rice
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the whole chicken. Boil for about 30-40 minutes until fully cooked.

Once chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and set aside to cool. Reserve the chicken broth for later.

In a separate pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sliced ginger, and sauté until fragrant.

Add the washed jasmine rice to the pot and stir to coat in the oil and aromatics. Pour in 4 cups of the reserved chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

While the rice is cooking, slice the cooled chicken into serving pieces.
