Savor the vibrant flavors of Kebab-e-Murgh, a succulent Indian chicken kebab marinated in yogurt, spices, and lemon juice. Ideal for a weeknight dinner or a festive gathering, these tender bites are sure to impress.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- salt to taste salt
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, garlic paste, ginger paste, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 2
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and ensure they are well coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat a grill or barbecue on medium-high heat. If using skewers, soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- 4
Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers, leaving some space between each piece.
- 5
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- 6
Once cooked, remove from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- 7
Serve hot with naan or rice and your choice of chutney or salad.
