- 453.6 g lamb or chicken
- 1 large onion
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup carrots
- 1 cup raisins
- 4 cups water

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Add the lamb or chicken pieces to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

Stir in the cumin seeds, salt, and carrots, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.

Add the soaked basmati rice and water, bringing it to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low, cooking for 30-40 minutes until rice is tender.
