Savor the warmth of homemade Jiaozi, these delightful Chinese dumplings filled with juicy ground pork and crisp napa cabbage. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a fun gathering with friends, they bring comfort and joy to any table.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 250 grams ground pork
- 1 cup chopped napa cabbage
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon ginger
Method
- 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour and warm water to form a dough. Knead until smooth, then let it rest for 20 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
- 2
In another bowl, mix together the ground pork, chopped napa cabbage, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir until well combined.
- 3
Divide the rested dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
- 4
Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- 5
Prepare a steamer and line it with parchment paper. Place the jiaozi in the steamer, making sure they do not touch each other.
- 6
Steam the jiaozi over boiling water for about 15 minutes, or until the filling is cooked through.
- 7
Serve hot with soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
