Savor the taste of homemade gyoza, where tender ground pork meets crisp cabbage and fragrant green onions, all wrapped in delicate dough. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a fun gathering with friends.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 250 g ground pork
- 1 cup cabbage, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 pack gyoza wrappers
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- to taste salt and pepper
Method
- 1
In a bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- 2
Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper.
- 3
Wet the edges of the gyoza wrapper with a little water, fold it in half, and press to seal, forming pleats if desired.
- 4
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add a little sesame oil. Arrange the gyoza in the skillet without crowding.
- 5
Fry the gyoza for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- 6
Add a splash of water to the pan (about 1/4 cup) and quickly cover with a lid. Steam for about 5 minutes until cooked through.
- 7
Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow any remaining water to evaporate and the bottoms to crisp up again.
- 8
Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
