Indulge in a warm, gooey Gruyère fondue, where rich cheese meets a hint of garlic and fresh thyme, perfect for cozy gatherings or a delightful weeknight treat with crusty French bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Gruyère cheese
  • 4 slices French bread
  • 150 ml white wine
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme

Method

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

  2. 2

Slice the French bread into thick slices and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

Rub the halved garlic clove on one side of each slice of bread.

  4. 4

Spoon the grated Gruyère cheese generously over the garlic-rubbed side of the bread.

  5. 5

Drizzle the white wine over the cheese-covered bread slices.

  6. 6

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. 7

Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme, if desired.

  8. 8

Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack.

I loved how the Gruyère cheese melted perfectly, creating a rich and creamy texture.
