Experience the heartwarming flavors of Korea with Gamjatang, a spicy pork bone soup brimming with tender meat, hearty potatoes, and vibrant green onions. Perfect for cozy weeknight dinners or gatherings with friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork neck bones
  • 5 cups water
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 1 cup green onion
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Method

  1. 1

In a large pot, combine the pork neck bones and water. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.

  2. 2

Skim off any scum that rises to the surface for a clear broth.

  3. 3

Add gochugaru and soy sauce to the pot, stirring well to combine.

  4. 4

Add the potatoes to the broth and continue to simmer for about 30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.

  5. 5

Stir in the chopped green onions and drizzle with sesame oil. Let simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Serve hot in bowls, ensuring each serving has some pork and potatoes.
