Indulge in the warm, aromatic embrace of homemade focaccia, infused with fresh rosemary and a sprinkle of coarse sea salt. This Italian classic is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or as a delightful appetizer at your next gathering.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 500 grams all-purpose flour
- 10 grams salt
- 7 grams active dry yeast
- 350 ml warm water
- 50 ml olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
- 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
Method
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and active dry yeast.
- 2
Gradually add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- 3
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 5
Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F). Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a greased baking sheet and stretch it out to fit the pan.
- 6
Use your fingers to create dimples in the dough. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 8
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm or at room temperature.
