Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vodka
  • 1 pinch salt
  • oil for frying vegetable oil
  • powdered sugar for dusting powdered sugar

Method

    In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt together.

    In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sour cream, and vodka until smooth.

    Gradually add the wet mixture to the flour, kneading until a smooth, firm dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for 15 minutes.

    On a floured surface, roll out the dough very thinly (about 1/8 inch thick). Cut into strips approximately 1 inch wide and 3-4 inches long.

    Twist each strip into a bow shape and secure the ends.

    Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the twisted dough pieces in batches until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
