Savor the vibrant flavors of Persian cuisine with Dolmeh Felfel, stuffed bell peppers filled with seasoned rice, ground beef, and fresh parsley. This hearty dish is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special gathering with loved ones.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 4 pieces bell peppers
- 1 cup rice
- 1 medium onion
- 200 grams ground beef
- 1 cup parsley
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Method
- 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- 2
In a pot, cook the rice in boiling water for about 10 minutes until partially cooked. Drain and set aside.
- 3
In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion in a little oil until translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- 4
Mix in the partially cooked rice, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper into the beef mixture. Stir well to combine.
- 5
Stuff each bell pepper with the rice and beef mixture, packing it gently. Place the stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish.
- 6
Pour the tomato sauce over the stuffed peppers, adding a bit of water if necessary to cover the bottom of the dish.
- 7
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the peppers are tender.
- 8
Serve hot, optionally garnished with extra parsley or a dollop of yogurt.
