Experience the heartwarming flavors of Persian cuisine with Dizi, a hearty lamb and split pea stew simmered to perfection. Ideal for a cozy weeknight dinner, this dish warms both the body and soul.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams lamb meat
  • 200 grams split peas
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste salt
  • 4 cups water

Method

    In a large pot, add the lamb meat, split peas, chopped onion, turmeric, black pepper, and salt.

    Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

    Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let it simmer for about 2 hours.

    After 2 hours, add the quartered potatoes and tomato paste to the pot.
