Dasik, a delightful Korean sweet rice cake, combines the chewy texture of glutinous rice flour with the nutty flavor of roasted soybean powder. Enjoy this treat during festive occasions or as a cozy snack with tea.
IngredientsWhat you need
- 200 g sweet rice flour (also known as glutinous rice flour)
- 150 ml water
- 80 g sugar
- 1 tsp natural food coloring (optional)
- 50 g roasted soybean powder
- 1 tsp salt
Method
- 1
In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet rice flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- 2
Gradually add in the water while stirring to avoid lumps. If using, add food coloring to achieve desired color.
- 3
Once the mixture is smooth, transfer it into a heatproof dish or mold.
- 4
Steam the mixture over boiling water for approximately 10 minutes, or until it becomes firm.
- 5
Remove from the steamer and let it cool slightly before cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
- 6
Dust the pieces with roasted soybean powder for extra flavor before serving.
