- 1 cup urad dal (black gram lentils)
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 pinch black salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander
- 1 cup water
Method

Drain the soaked urad dal and blend it with a little water into a smooth batter.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Remove the fried bhallas and soak them in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften.

Gently squeeze out excess water from the bhallas and place them on a serving dish.

In a bowl, whisk the yogurt and season it with cumin powder, red chili powder, and black salt.

Pour the seasoned yogurt over the bhallas.

Drizzle tamarind chutney on top and garnish with chopped coriander.

Serve chilled or at room temperature as a delicious side dish.
